This Year

Well, I think is very difficult to classify a year as good or bad, there lots of things that happened that were good, and, of curse, there was lots of bad stuff too. As I always trie to see the positive side of things, I should say that this year was good, but that doesn't mean everything was perfect.
This year I started to study music, the thing I want to give my life for, so that a great thing, the career is great, the teachers are great, the classes are great and some of them have been really fun, I should say that is better than I expected. However, there has been some difficulties on the way at university, I failed a class, but I'm glad to say that was just one, and I think that isn't going to happen again (at least not with that one hahaha) because I think I'm more mature for the class.
This year, also, I meet great people, I'm glad I've became a member of this course of my career, everyone is real nice, and I'm happy because is really great to be surrounded of good people, of curse.
Also, I have started my career as a musician, I have had some shows with some bands that I've formed for specific types of music, like the one I made for september, we played Cueca in that month. And I've also recorded a song on a study with other band, that song is ready to be mixed and published on the web.
I think that is more or less everything I have to say about this year. Maybe I could talk about family, but thats ok. Maybe I could talk about health, thats ok too. Maybe I could talk about love... or maybe I could just leave it there.

Summer Plans

Well, I really don't have plans for summer hahaha, I don't like to do plans, but I suppose that vacations are something that has to be planed, so, I think that I'm not going anywhere especial. But, my family has a house in El Quisco, my parents go there all the time, sometimes I go with them, and I probably will go two or three weeks on summer.
Someday, I'd love to go to Easter Island on summer, there, on february they have "Tapati" that it the celebration of their culture, it is supposed to remember the "Hombre Pájaro" games that were celebrated when there was a king in the island. So, this days, they have a huge celebration with some games that they play thoose days, lots of food, booze, pot, and, of curse, local music. I'd love to go there on thoose days, I can affirmate that I will have a great time going there.
Sadly, as I said it before, this year I'm not going anywhere especial, I don't have money to do it. But, this summer with my band we are going to record an little CD, with four to six songs, we are going to work with a classmate of mine that has a home studio and isn't going to charge to much to us for the work, I think that, just for that, is going to be a productive summer time.
I really hope I can travel some place else during other vacations, I'd really love to know and learn about lots of other places.

Dirty Money!!!

Well, this is a difficult thing to talk about because there are certain people who have serious issues about money, affortunately, without being a materialistic person, I don't have that problem, so, lets talk!
"Money is not very important to me", this is a very casual sentence, although there's a lot of people who says that, but just because they make lots of money every month. When I use that sentence, I usually mean it, but it could sound a little contradictory giving the fact that I want to be a professional musician and my instrument is guitar, acoustic or electric, and get good instruments, and all the extra equipment like effect pedals, amplifiers, etc, is very, very, VERY expensive. In fact, in this point of my life I've bought good stuff, I have a great electric guitar, a few expensive proffesional effects. But, for buying all that stuff I've had to work sometimes during summer time and all that stuff, and practically all my money goes to that, guitar strings, guitar calibration... unfortunately, taking care of instruments is very expensive and those spends are necessary for the sound. And, in this time of year I've realize that I need a piano for studing in my house, so, that's another necessary spend. Fortunately, I've inherited my mom's gift of the good management of money. Is not that she is stingy, but she is great keeping it for necessary stuff, of maybe vacations or thing like that. So, when I want to buy something, I have no problem in saving the necessary money to do so.
Certain times, I start to imagine what would I do if I become a millionare, and my conclusion is that my life would not be very different, maybe I'll move out of my house and have lots of musical instruments and maybe a professional studio, but I'll keep doing the same things every day, I would not buy more expensive clothes, or jewelry, or cars, or going to eat every that at restaurants... I'd like to keep my life very plain, simple, there are lots of things more importante that money. Maybe I'd search for something to invest on it, but I'm very bad at business, and the only thing that comes to my head right now is real state.
Although I'm not a materialistic person, my instruments have a great value for me, and there are some of those who are well price in market, regardless the use. It would be terrible, and I really hope this never happens, but if is extremely necessary, I thing that I'll pound one of my instruments, my electric guitar is my more expensive item, so... only if I have no choice, I think that my instruments are the best things to get money from.
After all of this, I think that my bigest conclusion is that money is important for me because the occupation that I want for my life is expensive. But, if a get money from it, for it, and for a life style relatively similir to the one I have right know, I don't think that I'll need more. As I said it before, there are lot of things more necessary that money, and I hope that I never get run out of those things.

How green am I?

Hello! Well, I think this is a good question, because there are many people who doesn't do anything "for the environment", and they hide it because they are ashamed that they don't do anything about it. But, I think they are like that because they don't really know that there are many option to "help" the environment, and are very easy to.
I like to hink that I'm very "green", starting for my facebook name wich is "Guitarrero Verde" (hahaha). Well, I do a lot of recycle, precisally, I separate the garbage: glass, plastic, news paper, plastic bags, etc. And I take them to "green points". And I trie that all the people around me start to do the same with their trash.
I think that I learned lots of these practices from my sistr, that started this when she was steel living in my house.
In generally, I always tried to walk or to take the bus, but I rarelly I ask for the car to my dad, I tried to avoid it. Until these days, I haven't join any eco-organization. I really don't know the reason, probably because I haven't found one of them that I feel really represented.
I think that there are lots of missing thing about this in our society. There are lots of selfish people who until these days haven't realised how much they'll win without using a car: there'll be more space in the streets, the time of the day by day trips to work, etc, would be shortest, and there will be more buses, wich is great to all the people. And the most important thing of all, the carbon footprint would be reduce a lot!
Well, I think this is all that I have to say about this topic, a very important one, specially going on through time on cities.

My Best Friend

Hi! today I'm going to talk about my best friend
Well, actually, I don't have just one best friend, I have a group of them, and none of them is specially my best friend. Maybe I shared more things with some of them, like with Javier, with whom I play in a band. With him I've shared lot of memories, lots of anecdotes, some of them are funny, some of them are sad, so with him a might say I'm closer. There is Gonzalo to, I know him since we were babies, because our families are close. We've shered lots of moments, family reunions, vacations, and of course, parties. In that group of friends there are Carlos, Claudio and Jaime to, but sadly I spend less time with them. I don't see Carlos for a long time now, but we chat a lot. I've seen more Claudio, we've shared more in the recient time, also with Jaime, with whom I hangout sometimes in the middle of the week.
And girl friends, of course! I'm gonna talk about two. There is Francisca, who is from Rancagua. I meet her at Escuela de Verano of Universidad de Chile in the summer of 2012. Although I don't see her to often, I feel that we're very close, She is a dancer and comes to Santiago every saturday, when we could hang we usually go to eat something and just talk and laught for hours.
There is also, Valeria, I don't see her a long time ago, but a trust 100% on her, I  know I can tell anything to her and of couse she can do it to.
Well, I think those are my closer friends, and maybe, my best friends. Love you guys <3

A Day to Remember

I think this is one of the most memorable days of my life, and I will say something as an introduction first:
Since I was a little kid, I've always had some interest in music, I was always hiting stuff just to make different sounds. Of course everyone in my house heard lots of music, and I think that the one that I enjoyed the most was my brother's, he listened to funky music, things like Chancho en Piedra, Los Tetas, Tiro de Gracia, etc, and also american bands such as Parliament, Funkadelic, Red Hot Chili Peppers, James Brown, etc.
When I was 10, I started to play recorder in school and my teacher told my parents that I was good in it, so they bought me a better one and I played it in school's musical workshop.
At the age of 12, I told my parents that I wanted to play the bass, inspired for all great funky bassist players, and they told that, as a start, they'll bought me a guitar, so, they did it. It was a crappy guitar, the cheapest that you can find in a supermarket, but it was just for the beginning in case that I regret.
And know, finally comes the story of the day that I will never forget. It happen a sunday evening after tea time, in a time period in which I was getting closer to classical rock music.
My dad went to do the dishes and put Deep Purple's album "Machine Head" on the radio, and started to sound the first song, Highway Star. When I was singing along the song, the guitar solo started to sound and I went to my room and graved my crappy cheap acoustic guitar and started to pretend playing that great solo. Of course I didn't knew that solo, of course I didn't had the technique to play it, of course my guitar wasn't made for playing that kind of music but all of this didn't matter, I just discovered that I want to play guitar, and to this day, I haven't got separated with the instrument.
Know, I know this is a very strange situation, and probably even really dumb, but, for me, this day is unforgettable, because I realized what I wanted to do in my life.

The best concert I've ever seen

Fortunately, I've had the chances to go to lots of concerts because my older brother and sister invite me to almost every concert that they go. I've seen Iron Maiden, Santana, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Foo Fighters, Queens of the Stone Age, The Offspring, Zas, Black Sabbath, Jack White with Robert Plant, recently I went to Santiago Gets Louder festival to see Faith No More and System of a Down, also I went to this year's Lollapalloza festival. Despite seening all that great artist I would have to say that the best concerts that I've seen are Paul McCartney at Estadio Nacional in 2011, Roger Water's "The Wall" also at Estadio Nacional in 2012, and, just two days ago, Muse at Movistar Arena. I remember those three concerts as if they have been just yesterday (although one of those was, in fact, just two days ago hahaha).
Paul McCartney's concert was amazing, a trip for his entire career, reviewing his Beatles times with song like Drive my Car, Penny Lane, Hey Jude, Let it Be, etc. Also, his Wings times with Jet, Band of the Run or Live and Let Die and of course his solo albums with song like Dance Tonight. He even had time to honor John Lennon and George Harrison, that was very beautiful.
The Roger Waters concert was very different as it was a whole concept of the album "The Wall", not just play good songs, he made the entire stadium part of the show, with speakers surrounding the stadium for the helicopter effcts, a large wall covered all the stage in the first half of the album for, later to be destroyed for the final of the album concept. That show was really amazing, is maybe the biggest production in the rock world, for all it takes.
Finally, the Muse concert just two days ago was brilliant. I arrived to Parque O'Higgins near 11pm to make line to be the nearest possible to the band's stage, and I got it. Althought it wasn't a long concert, it was very energical, I yelled every song as it should be for your favorite band. The concert had lots of videos, images that gave life to the album's tour concept: "Drones". Lots of lights that were kind a "playing" with song with a perfect cohesion. Definetelly, the have one of the greatest live shows nowadays.
So, those are my favorite concerts, every one of them with huge world quality productions. As I said in my previous post, I dream giving great concerts like those. If someday I have the oportunity to do it, of curse that those great shows would serve as inspiration for me and my hypothetical shows.
